What happens at a murder mystery dinner?
Think classic whodunnit with a generous helping of British comedy. Our professional actors play the suspects, mingle with guests and reveal the story through scenes around dinner. You and your fellow detectives question the characters, compare clues and decide who did it.
- Meet the suspects: pay attention from the start — an innocent remark could be a clue.
- Dine and investigate: enjoy your meal as the plot thickens.
- Make your accusation: put your theory together and discover whether you solved the case.
You do not need acting experience. Bring your curiosity, your sense of humour and a healthy suspicion of everyone in the room.

Hampshire murder mystery FAQs
What is the difference between a shared and a private event?
A shared event has a scheduled date and tickets you can book alongside other guests. A private event is arranged for your own group, with the date, venue and entertainment agreed as part of your proposal.
Can I book dinner without staying overnight?
Dinner-only tickets and overnight packages may be available. Check your chosen Elvetham or Winchester event listing for the options on your date and what each ticket includes.
Is a murder mystery weekend a full weekend of entertainment?
Check the package description before booking. Our listed Hampshire breaks centre on a murder mystery dinner, with an overnight stay and breakfast where included; extra nights and activities are not automatically included.
Do I have to wear fancy dress?
Dressing for the theme is encouraged but optional. Check your event’s theme and dress guidance before choosing your outfit.
Can our group join a shared dinner?
Yes, subject to ticket availability. Check the event page for current group offers and booking conditions. If you want an event exclusively for your guests, request a private quote.
Can you accommodate dietary or accessibility requirements?
Please tell us before booking so we can check arrangements with the venue. Menus, step-free access, room layouts and accommodation facilities vary.
How much does a private murder mystery cost?
The price depends on guest numbers, entertainment format, venue, catering and any accommodation. Send us your plans for a quote that explains what is included.
