PUBLIC EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

(Dinner Events & Murder Mystery Weekends)

Murder Mystery Events Limited
85 Great Portland Street
First Floor
London
W1W 7LT
United Kingdom

(“the Producer”, “we”, “us”)

These Terms apply to tickets purchased for shared public events organised by Murder Mystery Events Limited.

By purchasing tickets or redeeming vouchers for an event you agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of the Event

Our events are interactive theatrical entertainment experiences involving professional actors, improvisation and voluntary audience participation.

Because the experience is interactive:

  • audience interaction may vary

  • performer improvisation may vary

  • pacing may vary depending on guests and venue conditions.

No two performances will be identical and variation is an inherent feature of immersive entertainment.

2. Tickets

Tickets are sold for a specific:

  • event

  • date

  • venue.

Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.

Tickets may not be resold for commercial purposes without our written consent.

Entry may be refused where tickets have been obtained through unauthorised resale.

3. Voucher & Third-Party Bookings

Some bookings may be made using vouchers issued by third-party experience providers.

The purchase of a voucher constitutes a contract between the purchaser and the voucher provider.

Once a voucher is redeemed and an event date is booked with Murder Mystery Events Limited, a separate contract is created between the guest and Murder Mystery Events Limited and these Terms and Conditions apply to the booking.

Voucher holders are subject to the same availability, transfer rules and event policies as standard ticket holders.

Refund requests relating to the purchase of vouchers must be directed to the voucher provider in accordance with their terms and conditions.

4. Minimum Attendance

Events are subject to a minimum number of guests attending.

If minimum attendance is not reached we reserve the right to:

  • reschedule the event

  • relocate the event to an alternative venue

  • cancel the event.

Where cancellation occurs we will offer either:

  • a full refund of the ticket price paid, or

  • transfer to an alternative event.

5. Refund Policy

Tickets are non-refundable where the event proceeds as advertised.

This reflects the fact that event costs including venue hire, performers and hospitality services are committed in advance.

Where the Producer cancels an event, guests will be offered a refund or an alternative event date.

6. Ticket Transfers

Tickets may be transferred to another person free of charge prior to the event.

Tickets may also be transferred to a different event up to 21 days prior to the event date, subject to availability and payment of a £20 administration fee per ticket.

VIP Club Members

VIP Club members may use their transfer allowance:

  • Dinner events: up to 7 days prior to the event

  • Weekend events including accommodation: up to 21 days prior to the event

Where the replacement event has a higher ticket price the difference will be payable.

7. Changes to Events

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to events where necessary including:

  • performer substitutions

  • minor changes to event format

  • changes to event rooms within a venue

  • adjustments to the event schedule.

Such changes do not constitute cancellation of the event.

8. Hospitality Services

Where an event includes venue hire, dining, drinks packages or accommodation, these services are provided by the venue operator or hospitality provider.

Murder Mystery Events Limited acts as:

  • event organiser

  • entertainment provider

  • venue coordinator.

The venue remains responsible for hospitality services including:

  • food preparation and service

  • accommodation standards

  • bar operations

  • venue facilities and staffing.

Concerns relating solely to hospitality services do not constitute failure by the Producer to deliver entertainment services.

Where concerns arise guests should notify venue staff or the event host during the event so that the venue has the opportunity to address the issue.

9. Participation

Events may involve voluntary interaction between guests and performers.

Participation is optional and guests may decline involvement at any time.

We cannot guarantee equal participation for all guests.

10. Behaviour

We aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or require guests to leave where behaviour is:

  • abusive

  • disruptive

  • unsafe

  • excessively intoxicated

  • illegal.

No refund will be provided in such circumstances.

Guests may be liable for damage caused to venue property.

11. Recording, Photography & Artificial Intelligence

Guests are welcome to take photographs for personal use and social media.

However guests must not without written permission:

  • record substantial portions of the performance

  • livestream the event

  • reproduce scripts or dialogue

  • create similar events using recorded material

  • use recordings or scripts to train artificial intelligence systems.

All scripts, characters and event formats remain the intellectual property of Murder Mystery Events Limited.

12. Opportunity to Remedy

(Chargeback Prevention Clause)

If a guest has a concern regarding the event, the guest agrees to notify the Producer or venue staff during the event where reasonably possible so that steps may be taken to resolve the issue.

By purchasing tickets the guest agrees that the Producer must be given a reasonable opportunity to address any concern before a refund request or payment dispute is raised.

Raising a credit-card chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting the Producer to seek resolution may constitute a breach of these Terms.

13. Cancellation by the Producer

We may cancel or postpone an event where necessary due to:

  • performer illness

  • venue unavailability

  • insufficient bookings

  • circumstances beyond our control.

Where possible we will offer:

  • transfer to another event, or

  • a refund of the ticket price paid.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control including:

  • severe weather

  • government restrictions

  • venue closure

  • transport disruption

  • public emergencies.

Where possible we will offer rescheduling.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Otherwise our liability shall be limited to the ticket price paid.

We are not liable for:

  • travel costs

  • accommodation booked separately

  • venue service issues outside our control

  • indirect or consequential losses.

16. Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy available on our website.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
