Birthdya Bonanza Murder Mystery Role-Play

The Event

Set in the sultry gangsterland of the 1920s, this event was uniquely tailored to the Birthday Boy of the group, with the script injected with personalising snippets of information, anecdotes and good old gossip! Zesty characters like Damien Thirst, Tina Turncoat and Brother Cupafeal lead the guests through the murky world of mobsters, molls and murder, with plenty of bootlegged liquor to oil the wheels!

Centring on Belle or Beau Bounty (played by the Birthday Boy or Girl), the night was set at the world-renowned “Bounty’s Backparlour” speakeasy in downtown Chicago. It’s the height of prohibition; the story is set in the roaring twenties. Bounty and their friends all got together for another legendary birthday bash – when without warning, a terrible crime takes place!  With each person implicated as a suspect and our compelling actors driving the narrative this way and that, guests had to have their wits well and truly about them if they were to reveal the murderer and escape the night unscathed.

The one bad apple was finally plucked from the barrel with the help of a perky private investigator and some hilarious improvisation from each member of the group, with an abundance of thrills and intrigue.

With 30 guests taking part, we took all the hassle from the planning and catering, organising everything from sourcing the suitably swish five star location, to providing engrossing live entertainment with further drink and disco options on request. With a hotel of this calibre, even the most despicable murder couldn’t put our guests off their food, as they were served the sort of supper that dreams are made of. Cunning clue packs and perfect prizes were handed out to encourage a competitive atmosphere and a caught killer!

With the rascal rogue outed, the night segued into a gangster-style knees-up to celebrate the birthday in true style.
